Lesson Plan Description

First graders need multiple opportunities to practice 1:1 correspondence and counting on from different numbers.  This is especially important as the number value gets larger.  In this 1 hour lesson your students will:

  • Collaborate with partners to put numbers in order from least to greatest with a number grid, discuss the patterns they see on the number grid, read and write numbers ranging from 1-120
  • Use a number grid to fill in missing numbers from least to greatest in a grid, practice using the words before, between and after when putting numbers in order, continue to read and write numbers ranging from 1-120
