Lesson Plan Description

Fully scripted, this 1 hour lesson is based on Chrysanthemum, by Kevin Henkes.  Students will:

  • Identify characters in the story and discuss how the character of Chrysanthemum changes throughout the story
  • Make personal connections to the character and her actions
  • Participate in a guided art lesson using geometric shapes to create a drawing of the character Chrysanthemum
