Lesson Plan Description
This 30-60 minute math lesson plan addresses Geometry: Attributes of Two and Three-Dimensional Shapes along with Geometry: Composite Shapes. Students will distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size) of both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. Additionally, after reading Mouse Shapes as a class, students will build and draw their own composite mouse shape using shapes with defining attributes.
