Lesson Plan Description
This is a 1 hour ELA lesson plan addressing several ELA standards using Text: “Breaker Boys: A Light at the End of the Tunnel” ( provided). This lesson includes: close reading comprehension techniques (RI.4.1-4.5) Key Details and Vocabulary and Causal Reasoning (Focus on Effects). Students will take literal interpretation of informational text to evaluation and synthesizing and complete a graphic organizer to show the effects that the job of the breaker boys had on them personally.
