Lesson Plan Description

So many 4th graders get lost in the “forest” of words in complex word problems.  This lesson provided strategic review for finding key vocabulary with multiple opportunities to “talk it out” with peers.  Your students will:

  • Introduce and/or review and practice key math terms
  • Practice note-taking and collaborating using the “language” of math
  • Distinguish between additive comparison and multiplicative comparison
