Lesson Plan Description
Third Grade 1 hour math lesson addressing Measurement and Data: measuring inches, half inches, and quarter inches, collecting data, and creating line plots (3.MD.4). This lesson includes: key vocabulary, helpful student notes for reference, and measuring items around the classroom. will gather and record measurement data using whole, half, and quarter inches.
Students should have a basic understanding of measuring to half and quarter inches to complete this lesson. This lesson does not provide instruction on reading a ruler, rather it is a hands on application of the skill.
