Materials Needed: pencils, red and blue crayons/colored pencils, a document camera or whiteboard, large teaching clock or use “Clock Printable”, and small student clocks or use “Clock Printable” (1 copy per student)
Printable Resources: Required: printable “Student Clock Practice Sheet” (1 copy per student); Required: printable “Matching Time Game” (1 copy per student) (pieces need to be cut out ahead of time and placed in a bag, or have students help cut out the pieces before playing the game); Required: printable “Matching Time Game Recording Sheet” (1 copy per student)
Lesson Plan Description
This 1 hour math lesson addresses Measurement & Data: (1MD.3). This lesson is intended to be an introductory lesson on Drawing Hour and Minute Hands on a Clock & Writing Times. Students will draw the hour and minute hands on an analog clock to match the time, and they will write in the numbers on a digital clock to match the time.
**The content of this lesson is derived from a portion of the Half Day Lesson Plan:Telling Time to the Nearest Hour and Half Hour. Purchasing both this 1 hour and the half day plan, will result in duplicate content.
