• Practice "drawing" the problem and using number lines

Materials Needed: Required:

• bBank paper
• 6 large poster board size paper (word problems for collaborative groups need to be written on the paper prior to starting the lesson)
• Pencils, crayons/colored pencils
• Number line 1-20 (use printable if needed)
• Counters
• Scissors and glue sticks
• Document camera or whiteboard

• “CUBES Poster” (1 copy for display)
• “Word Problems” (1 copy per student and 1 for display)
• "Exit Slip" as an assessment component ( 1 copy per student)
