Lesson Plan Description
Fifth Grade 1 hour lesson addressing Numbers in Base-Ten: decimal place value through the thousandths place, expanded form, and comparing decimals (5.NBT.3). This lesson includes: key place value vocabulary, helpful student notes for reference, guided and independent practice of comparing digits within a decimal. Students will continue to practice reading and writing decimals through the thousandths place correct. They will use place value to explain the value of digits through the thousandths. Using this knowledge they will compare two decimals or fractions to the thousandths place.
