Lesson Plan Description
This Third Grade 1 hour ELA lesson plan based around an informational Earth Science text “What is Climate Change?”. This lesson includes: close reading comprehension techniques (RI.3.1, RI.3.2, RI.3.3, & RI.3.4), independent analysis of a text, partner discussions, and group discussions.
Students will take literal interpretation of informational text to evaluation and synthesizing.
The text used in this lesson addresses the NGSS: ESS2.D: Weather and Climate: Climate describes a range of an area’s typical weather conditions and the extent to which those conditions vary over years.
**The content of this lesson is derived from a portion of the Half Day Lesson Plan: “Informational Earth Science: “What is Climate Change”” Purchasing both this 1 hour and the half day plan, will result in duplicate content.
