Lesson Plan Description
This is a 1 hour ELA lesson plan addressing several ELA standards using a myth, “Brog and the Rainbow”. This lesson includes: close reading comprehension techniques, analysis of vocabulary, key details, and identifying the central message. Your students will engage in repeated readings of a text, partner discussions, and individual analysis. Students will synthesize a myth to discover key details and find a central message. They will also use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown vocabulary words. This lesson concludes with an optional printable assessment piece.
