Lesson Plan Description

Engage your students in collaborating, discussing and demonstrating their understanding of a foundational number sense math skill: place value. We learn and remember when we have fun while learning. Get 2 fun games and strategic partner practice with this bundle of lessons. Your students will:

Segment 1: collaborate with peers and practice place value by naming, reading and writing number to 1,000 using expanded and base 10 block forms
Segment 2: demonstrate their understanding of place value by using the “language” of math and playing 2 games “Roll It! Draw It! Expand It!” & BINGO

These lessons can be taught over the span of a half day or you can use the lessons independently, broken up over several days.
