Lesson Plan Description

Have you ever tried to write your own word problems that represent the 4th grade math skills?  It’s a true demonstration of our understanding of numbers and their values.  Working in teams, your 4th graders get to try writing their own real life word problems.  They will:

  • Collaborate, review & practice key math terms and take notes
  • Distinguish between additive comparison and multiplicative comparison
  • Demonstrate their understanding of the multiplicative comparison by creating word problems and using manipulatives/tape diagrams to illustrate their solutions

**Purchasing both this 1 hour and the Math Bundle: “Solving Word Problems Using Multiplicative Comparisons Bundle,” will result in duplicate content.
