Lesson Plan Description

Engage your students in the “doing” of math by nurturing the academic language of math and tactically counting number value together.  In this 1 hour lesson they will have multiple opportunities to “play” with number value and demonstrate their understanding of number sense.  Your students will:

  • Collaborate with partners in order to practice the “language” of math and determine number value in different ways
  • Bundle objects into groups of tens and ones and count by tens and ones
