Incorporating science standards and learning into reading is the way to go! We have so little time to get everything taught. In this 1 hour lesson that incorporates Earth Science Standards, your students will:

Participate in a collaborative and active close reading lesson by asking and answering questions text dependent questions with the support of sentence frames
Work with partners to take the literal interpretation of informational text to evaluation and synthesis

This lesson addresses the NGSS:

ESS2.D: Weather and Climate: Climate describes a range of an area’s typical weather conditions and the extent to which those conditions vary over years.
