Lesson Plan Description

In 3rd grade, important math foundational skills are learned and practiced that provide the building blocks to understanding more complicated real-life problems.  In this 1 hour lesson your students will have multiple opportunities to practice and reinforce their understanding of multiplication and the commutative property.  They will:

  • Collaborate with partners and practice the “language” of math
  • Practice taking strategic notes for reference
  • Participate in guided and independent practice of the commutative property by solving multiplication problems
