Description: Have fun with 3D shapes in this 1 hour scripted math lesson.  With multiple opportunities to practice the "language" of math with partners, your 2nd graders will:

• Work with partners to practice geometric key vocabulary for place value
• Practice identifying defining attributes of three-dimensional solid shapes (e.g.; cubes are three-dimensional solids, with six faces, twelve edges, and eight vertices)
• Produce an "exit" ticket demonstrating their understanding of the concepts

• Practice identifying defining attributes of three-dimensional solid shapes (e.g.; cubes are three-dimensional solids, with six faces, twelve edges, and eight vertices) in strategic partnerships
• Distinguish between defining and non-defining attributes (e.g.; color, orientation, overall size) of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes and create shapes with defining attributes to create composite shapes
