Engaging readers in literacy skills via science texts is engaging and purposeful! In this engaging 1 hour fully scripted informational Earth Science lesson using the text “What is Climate Change?” your students will:

Participate in a collaborative and active close reading lesson by asking and answering questions text dependent questions with the support of sentence frames
Evaluate text feature purpose and function in order to to create a new informational text incorporating the “best” text features

This lesson addresses the NGSS:

ESS2.D: Weather and Climate: Climate describes a range of an area’s typical weather conditions and the extent to which those conditions vary over years.
