Lesson Plan Description

Using informational text to teach reading and comprehension skills is engaging and fun! In this 1 hour lesson using an informational text, “Kid Apps”, your students have multiple opportunities to engage with the text in collaborative and supported partnerships. Your students will:

Work with partners to collaborate, ask and answer text dependent questions with the support of strategic sentence frames
Practice using context clues to determine meaning of unknown words
Determine the key details in order to evaluate and synthesize the information
