Description: Learning to see and "represent" number values in different ways is the key to cementing number sense for 1st graders!  In this full scripted of  3 math lessons (30-60 minutes each) your students will:

• Collaborate with partners in order to practice the "language" of math and determine number value in different ways
• Bundle objects into groups of tens and ones and count by tens and ones
• Build a two-digit number using base-ten blocks and practice counting by tens and ones
• Write a number sentence in expanded form for two-digit numbers
• Draw a picture using base-ten blocks to represent a two-digit number
• Represent a two-digit number by filling in ten frames
• Write a number sentence in expanded form to equal a two-digit number in the ten frame
• Work in partners to create a paper chain to represent a two-digit number
