Description: Do your 3rd graders need more practice solving word problems?  We thought so...?   In this engaging, interactive and scripted bundle of 2 lessons (60 minutes each) they will:

• Collaborate with peers and practice key math vocabulary
• Read and extract information to help solve a multi-step word problem using all four operations
• Create visual models (arrays) for word problems
• Solve word problems that contain multiplication and division up to 100
• Demonstrate their understanding by working in pairs to write their own multiplication or division word problem story based on a fact family
• Complete an exit ticket to help guide planning next instructional steps

Description: First Grade 1-Hour math lesson addressing Operations and Algebraic Thinking: addition using the commutative property (1.OA.3). This lesson is best suited for students who have had previous exposure to the commutative property or using "flip-flop" facts. Students will participate in using a number bond mat to visually represent addition facts using counters. They will then create a commutative property craft displaying "flip-flop" facts on a flip-flop sandal.

Description: First Grade bundle of math lesson plans containing 2 separate segments (60 minutes each) addressing Operations and Algebraic Thinking: addition using the commutative property (OA.3). These lessons include: an introduction to the commutative property using the concept of "flip-flop" facts, whole class activity, whole class demonstration with objects, independent practice of skill, and 3 games to reinforce and practice addition using the commutative property.
